Montgomery Associates provides specialty water resource engineering services. The firm has expanded its capabilities and staffing in surface water and groundwater analysis and design, but remains committed to providing expertise in hydrology and hydraulics applied to environmental management.
Through a multi-disciplinary staff combined with a think-tank atmosphere, Project work has included hydrologic and hydraulic issues associated with lake and dam management, continuous hydrologic (surface water and groundwater) modeling of watersheds and stormwater management systems, and complex hydraulic analysis and design of riverine systems.
Dr. David M. Mickelson
Dr. Mickelson is Professor of Geology and Geophysics, Geological Engineering, and Water Resources Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
He received a B.A. from Clark University, an M.S. from the University of Maine, and a Ph.D. in 1971 from The Ohio State University and has taught glacial geology, intro geomorphology, coastal geomorphology and air photo interpretation. Geomorphology is the study of earth surface processes.
His other main area of research is shoreline erosion and nearshore and beach processes. He has recently published several papers on shore processes on the Great Lakes. He has done research on modern glaciers and glacial deposits in Sweden and Norway, Argentina, China, Alaska, the Rocky Mountains, New England, and the Midwest.
